THINK LIKE A JAZZ MUSICIAN:
Jazz improvisation is actually music analyzation. Jazz guitar players in West Chester, or any jazz musician or teacher who uses the guitar tab modal approach to the guitar lesson or performance, recognizes the repetition of arpeggiotic fingering. On the gig, as a teacher, or as a student of improvisation the jazz musician who builds on internalizing guitar tab will advance. The rule at the bottom of this page is more than advise. Yes, there are some jazz musicians of note who have developed without much attention to this technique, but arbitrary finger placement restricts the development of what is called good acoustical reflex.

REMEMBER: EVERY FINGER HAS A FRET AND THE FOURTH STRETCHES.
Do not violate this concept! Acoustical memory comes from the regular repetition of arpegiotic finger placement. Your brain is not big enough to intellectualize spontaneous fingerings at performance speed. This principle is repeated many times through the links and lessons posted here. The advantage of this discipline will become more evident as your ear takes over.

Note: This site is for the advanced jazz musician, guitar student or teacher interested in improvisation, and modal music. Each guitar lesson features elements of guitar tab and jazz guitar concepts usable on any gig in West Chester.
